2015: Sustainable Farming

As 2015 progressed, Beung Kok village grew and prospered through the Four Girls for Families Rotary International Grant which, approved in 2015, brought sustainable farming to the village's families. Parents learned how to grow their own crops, harvesting some for their families, some for market and some to store for the droughts ahead. Families were also finally able to access the clean drinking water they needed through the grant's clean water initiative which included deep community wells and a series of bio-sand filters.

In 2015 we embarked on our largest project to date; fundraising for a 450-student elementary school in Sret Province, one hour east of Siem Reap. This school replaced the old crumbling building which was no longer safe for the children.
