2015-2017: The Sret Schoolhouse

In 2015 we began our largest project to date; the construction of a 450-student schoolhouse in Sret Village, one hour east of Siem Reap. We partnered with the British Schools Foundation in England, and the project was managed by the Trailblazers USA--an NGO on the ground in Siem Reap. We worked for 2 years to raise these funds through pop-up stores, craft fairs, and other fundraising events in our town and across the country. The total cost of this project was $80,000, and construction took approximately eight months. The doors opened for the 450 schoolchildren of Sret Village on November 8th, 2016.  In March 2017 we spent time with all the children as they learned in their new classrooms.
